Our Story

Intellivega was founded in 2017 by two San Angelo natives who shared a belief that good data, used well, could change how a business runs.

The partnership between Jonathan and Robert started at Sitel, well before there was a company to build. Jonathan built a paperless attendance system there, and Robert contributed programming to it. That collaboration was how the two first met and began recognizing each other's talents. Over time it grew into something deeper. Jonathan went on to build a web app for managing employee time, metrics, contact logs, and performance, and he leaned on Robert's operational experience to make sure the tools solved real problems rather than theoretical ones. Robert provided much of the on-the-ground insight into what the work actually needed to function in practice. Jonathan provided innovative and efficient ways to address those needs.

After a decade leading the way at the Sitel site, including overseeing operations for Fortune 100 clients such as Capital One and AT&T, Robert left in 2016 and used his 401K to buy himself the time to figure out how to build the business he and Jonathan had always talked about. During that stretch he discovered Fiverr, started taking on data and automation work, and proved there was real demand for it. He had active orders coming in before he made his next move.

That next move was calling Jonathan. With the foundation already in place and orders on the books, Robert asked him to come build the business together. By June 2017 they formalized the partnership, each holding a 50% stake as Co-Founder. The name came out of those early conversations, suggested by a colleague from those Sitel days, drawn from the idea of Vega rising to outshine the North Star.

The two brought complementary strengths. Robert studied computer science at Angelo State University, part of the Texas Tech University System, which paired technical grounding with his operations background. Jonathan brought nearly two decades in Lean Six Sigma and process improvement. Between them, the work was covered on both sides: understanding how a business runs, and building the tools to run it better.

Fiverr carried the early years. Intellivega earned Top-Rated Seller and Fiverr Pro status, then expanded to Upwork in 2021 while building a steady, loyal client base. Late that year the company began hiring locally, helping seed a data analytics industry in San Angelo. Today the team has grown to 15 employees, working out of downtown San Angelo. The client list now includes names like Rolls Royce, Carnival Cruises and KSMTA, with work spanning data visualization, automation, custom software, and reporting, along with the mainstream tools businesses already rely on like Excel and Power BI. The 2023 Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting marked a milestone in a larger goal: helping turn San Angelo into a place where tech careers are built and kept.

In 2025, Jonathan reduced his role to explore opportunities in other areas. He remains a Co-Founder and a trusted voice in the company's decisions and direction. Robert became the sole managing partner and majority stakeholder at that time, committing to grow the company on two fronts: continuing the consulting and software development work that helps small businesses grow, and investing in Intellivega's own team of experts to turn their ideas into products the company can bring to market.

Intellivega continues to grow, focused on expanding its client base and putting the value of good data to work for businesses of every size.
